A suicide bomber blew himself up and injured 31 others at a bus stop outside a Restaurant in Nairobi, Kenya this morning. It appears the bomber and two accomplices were trying to get to the international airport but the bus was full, then they tried the restaurant, but the door keeper refused entry - more to come

- A builder was fined $15,000 for going to a show cause hearing to try and get his $95,000 violation reduced. He claimed in his documentation he had a permit, and he did not. The EPA called it fraud.
- The EPA recently tried to get new owners to come forward on their own to report violations, and were rewarded with reduced fines. It looks like now they just want suggestions - The EPA seem to be asking:"What incentives will work?"

- Celtel is expanding free roaming to 6 Countries, including, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. The expansion seems to be tied to a new African State being formed in 2013, now called the East African Community.
- The Essay Project seems bringing submarine fiber optic submarine cables to Africa
seems on track and may be laying cable in a few weeks.
Fiji:
- Fiji and Australia had an international rugby competition Saturday in Australia, and The Aussies denied visas to an assistant coach and two key players because they are members of the Fiji military.
- The Fiji supreme court declares that Qarase, the deposed Prime Minister, cannot be restricted from travel, and is free to go to Suva. The miltary responded that Laisenia Qarase had always been free to travel...hmm.
- There is a solid waste management conference next week in Fiji. The agenda is a fairly comprehensive review of local policy and international technology, hosted by Japanese companies.
- June was a wet month on the Eastern seaboard, and 23,000 on Kenya Coast have been Impacted by Flooding. Relief Agencies are already very busy in Mozambique, but are moving into the Mombasa, Kenya area.

- Chinese goods are flooding Mexican markets, creating stiff competition for local business. A group of Mexican manufactures are trying to promote Mexican trade with China.
- Uganda is investigating traditional healers who seem to have gone into small business consulting, and are accused of Fraud.
- Uanda, Kenya, Rwanda, Barundi and possibly others will create a federation and elect to one president by 2013.
- Nimule is a small town just north of the Uganda Border in South Sudan, and it has become a boom town because of the war in Sudan. It has become the doorway between the two countries.
- Uganda has outgrown it's power resources, and businesses spend as much as 30 percent of their work hours without power.
